The worship of idols and personalities

Worship should be directed towards one entity only, and that is to the Lord our God, the Almighty. We commonly find people worshipping other things or beings for a variety of reasons. There should be a clear distinction between respect for something or someone and the worship of the thing or person.

What is the difference between idol worship and deity (God) worship?

In my thought “idol worshipping” it’s more refer to materialistic form such as knowledge,money,pride,cult of personality,lust,property and many other hedonism things. For example a person that always thirst of “money” they can be labelled as idol worshipper (I’m not identify this to beggars or poor people). Why? Because if a person put a mindset that “money” is everything in his/her life that means “money” is his/her God. He/she will be forget to his/her God and will keep search for “money” because for them money can fullfill every aspects of their life. Other example is, “cult of personality” this always happen to a dictators. Those people can be put in a group of “idols” because country that rule by a dictator, the people inside the country will view their leader as a God because he/she can do everything what ever he/she want.

Deity worship is a different thing. Most of people that worship deities or entities they will always use “statue or image” as their “media” to worship these beings. Deity worship mostly can be found on pagan religions and totemism. Is it worshiping an angel can be refer as deity worship? The answer is, Yes. Why? Any beings such as gods, angels and demons can be put in one group as “deities or entities”. Not all of deities or entities are “evil” some of them also good. Deity or entities are above of human beings,they have several different abilities and they can only be seen by “sixth sense”. Deity worship it’s 100% genuine a form of polytheism (even you only worship one deity it is still the same, other than mighty God is the part of polytheism).
