Comfort Zone

Al-Balad (The City) 90:4
Verily, We have created man into [a life of] pain, toil and trial.

[Toil: sweat, drudgery, effort, exertion, industry, application, grind, slog, travail, moil, graft, hard work, pains, slaving, struggle, drudge, fatigue, labor, slavery, yakka and tears (be wasteful), nine-to-five, occupation work, elbow grease, hard yakka, (blood, sweat and tears)].

Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:216
Fighting is ordained for you, even though it be hateful to you; but it may well be that you hate a thing the while it is good for you, and it may well be that you love a thing the while it is bad for you: and Allah SWT knows, whereas you do not know.

An-Nisa (The Women) 4:19
O you who have attained to faith! It is not lawful for you to [try to] become heirs to your wives [by holding onto them] against their will; and neither shall you keep them under constraint with a view to taking away anything of what you may have given them, unless it be that they have become guilty, in an obvious manner, of immoral conduct. And consort with your wives in a goodly manner; for if you dislike them, it may well be that you dislike something which Allah SWT might yet make a source of abundant good.

Friendship
Al-Furqan (The Criterion) 25:28
Oh, woe is me! Would that I had not taken so-and-so for a friend!

Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:65 (easy seeking is not recommended)
for you are well aware of those from among you who profaned (violated) the Sabbath, whereupon We said unto them, "Be as apes despicable!"

Al-A'raf (The Heights) 7:166 (easy seeking is not recommended)
and then, when they disdainfully (arrogantly) persisted in doing what they had been forbidden to do, We said unto them: "Be as apes despicable!"

Quotes
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right.

Great things never came from comfort zones.

Outside of your comfort zone is where the magic happens.

If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.

If you want something you’ve never had, then you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.

Don’t be afraid to give up the good and go for the great.

In the end we regret the chances we didn’t take.

The biggest rewards in life are found outside your comfort zone. Live with it. Fear and risk are prerequisites if you want to enjoy a life of success and adventure.

It’s OK to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.

Your comfort zone is your danger zone.

Your life does not get better by chance. It gets better by change.

Comfort zones are where dreams got to die.

All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.

The shell must break before the bird can fly.

If you want to change, you have to be willing to be uncomfortable.

Step so far outside your comfort zone that you forget how to get back.

A good portion of the things you want in life is outside your comfort zone.

The hardest thing to do is leaving your comfort zone. But you have to let go of the life you’re familiar with and take the risk to live the life you dream about.

Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.

Comfort zones are plush lined coffins. When you stay in your plush lined coffins, you die.

By leaving your comfort zone behind and taking a leap of faith into something new, you find out who you are truly capable of becoming.

To the degree we’re not living our dreams, our comfort zone has more control of us than we have over ourselves.

Leaving your comfort zone is hard. Staying broke is hard. Pick your hard.

True self-discovery begins where your comfort zone ends.

Be fearful of mediocrity.

I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy; I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.

The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘O people, verily the religion of Allah is easy.’

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘If you fear the difficulty of a situation, be hard and firm in front of it and it will lower [in difficulty] for you, and wittingly deceive the problems of the age and they will become easy for you.’

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The best of matters are those that are easy to start, pleasant to finish and whose outcome is praiseworthy.’

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘But Allah tries His servants with various tribulations, renders them to worship Him through struggles, tests them with various types of distresses, all in order to extract pride out from their hearts, and to settle humbleness in their souls, and in order to make all these open doors to His grace an easy means to His pardon.’

Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Generosity is one of the noble traits possessed by prophets. It is the pillar of belief, such that only a true believer will be generous, as well as one who possesses great certainty and high aspiration, for generosity is a gleam from the light of certainty, and the one who knows what he wants finds it easy to give away.’

Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘When Allah, Blessed and most High, wants to honor a servant who has previously committed a sin, He tries him with illness, and if not with that then with need. And if not with that, then He makes his death difficult. But when He wants to humiliate a servant who has done some good previously, He makes his body healthy, or makes his sustenance abundant, or makes his death easy.’

I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion'. (Muhammad Ali Clay)
