Reference Difficult Times in Holy Quran

Al-Baqara (The Cow) 2:214

[But] do you think that you could enter para-dise without having suffered like those [believers] who passed away before you? Misfortune and hardship befell them, and so shaken were they that the apostle, and the believers with him, would exclaim, "When will God's succour come?" Oh, verily, God's succour is [always] near!

Al-Anbiya (The Prophets) 21:69

[But] We said: O fire! Be thou cool, and [a source of] inner peace for Abraham!

Al-Qasas (The Narration) 28:7

And so, [when he was born,] We inspired [thus] the mother of Moses: Suckle him [for a time], and then, when thou hast cause to fear for him, cast him into the river, and have no fear and do not grieve - for We shall restore him to thee, and shall make him one of Our message-bearers!

Ash-Shu'ara (The Poets) 26:49
Said [Pharaoh]: Have you come to believe in him ere I have given you permission? Verily, he must be your master who has taught you magic! But in time you shall come to know [my revenge]: most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and shall most certainly crucify you in great numbers, all together!

Ash-Shu'ara (The Poets) 26:46-51
And the sorcerers fell down prostrate. (46) Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists). (47) "The Lord of Mûsa (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron)." (48) [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "You have believed in him before I give you leave. Surely, he indeed is your chief, who has taught you magic! So verily, you shall come to know. Verily, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all." (49) They said: "No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allâh) we are to return; (50) "Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Mûsa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allâh]." (51)

Al-Isra (The Journey by Night) 17:67

And whenever danger befalls you at sea, all those (powers] that you are wont to invoke forsake you, [and nothing remains for you] save Him: but as soon as He has brought you safe ashore, you turn aside [and forget Him] - for, indeed, bereft of all gratitude is man!

Al-Qasas (The Narration) 28:55

and, whenever they heard frivolous talk, having turned away from it and said: Unto us shall be accounted Our deeds, and unto you, your deeds. Peace be upon you - [but] we don't desire ignorant.
