Seven Lessons to Become Successful
a) Mostly successful people come from remote areas where resources are limited. Then they value the available resources and nature guides them to the right direction. Challenges make them more resilient. Law of nature is you have to run from a distance to jump a big obstacle. Parents and mentors make characters. How do A students end up working for C students? Big dreams will make your problems small.
b) Never follow trends and crowd. There are 456 recorded professions in the world. Banners, advertisements and environment influence our mind. Success is not in profession. Success is related to talent. In 2012, a poor young man scored the highest in Punjab University history. But again lacks in communication skills. Find and follow your passion (natural talent). Albert Einstein says, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” We forget, who we are? Look at your own weaknesses / shortcomings and work on it. Delve (dig, search inside) into your soul and there seek your life’s buried tracks. Discover your passion and self. He who knows himself, knows his Lord. You can make your recognition by contribution or service, not by position. Follow your passion, discover yourself.
c) Books, teachers were rare in old times. Only influential people had access to knowledge. Imam Ghazali (9-10 years); used to walk 12 miles with horse riding teacher for 6 years. That teacher was hired by a rich man for his kids. Knowledge is not in books. It’s in your inquisitiveness; eagerness to learn; thirst for knowledge; appetite for knowledge; desire to know; lust for learning.
d) Best attitude and best habits make your future. Ruin yourself or rise yourself with habits. Smile and courteousness is charity and you will get more chances to grow. Great attitude costs you nothing. A bad attitude can cost you everything. You can increase your social genius. You will learn to use the power of social intelligence.
e) Be flexible to learn, teach, mentor, self-improvement (both mental and physical exercises). No man ever got very high by pulling other people down. The intelligent merchant does not knock his competitors. The sensible worker does not knock those who work with him. Don't knock your friends. Don't knock your enemies. Don't knock yourself.
f) Be book reader, biographies; the individuals and nations who read more books make more progress.
g) Practice respect, honor, love parents, teachers and elders. In return, you will get their prayers full of energy.
