Self-Respect
Staying silent is like a slow growing cancer to the soul and a trait of a true coward. There is nothing intelligent about not standing up for yourself. You may not win every battle. However, everyone will at least know what you stood for - YOU.
Self-control is the chief element in self-respect, and self-respect is the chief element in courage. Losing self-respect is a greater loss. Self-respect is the root of discipline.
Respect yourself, then others will respect you. Complete compassion (consideration, kindheartedness) means include yourself. Be kind to you. Character - the willingness to accept responsibility for one's own life - is the source from which self-respect springs.
Taking responsibility means refusing to let others do your thinking, talking, and naming for you; it means learning to respect and use your own brains and instincts; hence, grappling (contending, struggling) with hard work.
Others cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them.
One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being yourself.
When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everyone will respect you.
The only person that deserves a special place in your life is someone that never made you feel like you were an option in theirs.
